Top Movie from each Military Branch (according to a few Marines)

While working on previous list for top movies for each branch, the idea came up to do one list that covered the top movie by branch. Because it is the Marine Corps Birthday, we let them help. After some debate, this is the result.

Best Army Movie

Army FMJ

If you look close at the picture above, you will see an Army tank. After the top 5 Army movies article, there were a lot of comments that included Full Metal Jacket. While it may look like a film about Marines, the picture is proof that it is in fact an Army movie as well, and therefore should be included in the top 5 Army movie list. (At least to Marines)

Best Coast Guard movie

the guardian

In 2006, The Guardian gave a look into the world of Coast Guard rescue swimmers. Through the film, viewers got a look at the school it self which is an 18 week course with an additional 4 weeks of EMT training. The school only has 75-100 attendees each year, and has an average attrition rate around 54%. (This is a true rating of best Coast Guard Movie. No Marine joke could be found.)

Best Navy Movie

Once again we see that Full Metal Jacket is not about Marines but of a Navy Corpsman that gave his life trying to save a wounded Marine. Because of the Corpsman being in the film it now tops the list for the Navy.

Best Air Force Movie

This one was so good it needed a video. As you can see this Air Force movie shows a friendly fire situation with the focus being the U.S. Marines on the ground.

Best Marine Movie

FMJ

This one was an easy one. It is one of the most Iconic movies in Military films. This movie makes teens want to grow up and be Marines as well as makes members of other services wish they were Marines.

With that the list is complete. Did we miss anything or hit center mass?

Last but not least Happy Birthday United States Marines. 240 years and still kicking ass!

  1. What a douche list. To put Full Metal Jacket down as an Army film because it has a tank in it is hilarious. I thought you were joking and kept looking for the “real winner”. To overlook such movies as Platoon and We Were Soldiers for the Army top spot is truly either a sample of a joke or idiocy. Same could be said for top Navy film being again Full Metal Jacket because it has a Navy Corpsman in the movie. If you wanted to just point out your “opinion” that Full Metal Jacket is your favorite movie of all time, at least don’t slight the other branches or service and their iconic films.

    1. Mitch, this list was a joke. The inclusion of Full Metal Jacket and the overall premise of the article is based off of comment received on the Top 5 Army Movies article and when it went up on Facebook. This was just a bit of fun for the Marine Corps Birthday.

    1. Patton was a real POS. Even his highest officers hated him, fact. His tactics were retarded and inflicted more U.S. casualties than they did any actual good on the battlefield. He was cocky and arrogant. Exactly what an American General should NOT be.
