You too can fight ISIS

FFL SoldiersFollowing the attacks in Paris on November 13, 2015 many people took to social media calling for immediate attacks on ISIS. These included a large number of people who have and will never serve in the Armed Forces of the U.S. While it is great to talk a big game and demand retribution, there are many out there who have answered those calls, so why don’t these people? The opportunity might be there for these warriors of the keyboards. From The Havok Journal:

As with every terrorist attack and mass shooting, the internet has been ripe with keyboard commandoes, militia supporters, and Mil-Sim paint ballers telling the world how they would love to go over to Bahrain (because they often don’t know the geography of current international security threats very well) and shows those God damned ISIS goat lovers what’s what. Of course, most of these loud mouth, arm chair tacticians have never served a day in a uniform they didn’t design themselves or download as part of a video game mod.

Some of them know what they’re talking about when it comes to weapons. We all know the type – we see them at the local public shooting range in their expensive tactical pants and operator caps, usually armed with expensive weapons that include every imaginable variant of cool guy gear that can be attached to an AR-15 platform…much of it tan-colored. Because the deserts of the Middle East are tan. And that’s what the guys on the commando fan pages are wearing.

What they are usually not familiar with is having targets shoot back at them. Or tactical movement techniques. Or physical fitness.

This is in no way meant to disrespect or minimize anyone who has ever served in uniform, nor is it meant to disrespect anyone who served in peacetime. It is especially not meant to undermine anyone who simply never heard the call of military service and took a different direction with their lives.Streetwear_Magazine2This is meant to disrespect the chatroom big mouths and militia weekenders who have everything to say about how much they’d love to “go over there” and sling some lead on behalf of ‘Murica. The ones who take every opportunity to let people know that if the terrorists ever come to America, by God there will be hell to pay! But never served.

As a nation, we’ve been at war in the Middle East since CIA folks and U.S. Special Forces began linking up with the Northern Alliance in September 2001. Opportunities to deploy overseas have been abundant in our military. Even many members of the National Guard and Reserve have multiple deployments as part of the Global War on Terror.

If you really wanted to get in the fight, the opportunities have been there for you to do so.

For the U.S. military, things have slowed down just a bit as our operations have tapered off, although that could change at any time.

See the full article from The Havok Journal.

There we have it. A solution for those who wish they could take the fight to the enemy. While the U.S. Military might be scaling down, it looks like others might be ramping up here in the near future.

  2. Some of the loud mouths are also denied enlistment because of the location of a tattoo (i.e. hand for me). While I am working on getting it removed, I’m not getting younger either. Now some say you can get a waiver, tried and didn’t. Well it was your asvab score then. Nope, got a 93 with a GT of 124. Then you’re not in shape! False, 6’2″, 230lbs with a 34″ waist and 15% body fat. While I am working on getting it removed, I’m not getting younger either. I am more than willing to do what I am told and face these Daesh, side by side with the greatest men and women in our country. Right now, I just do what I can and volunteer with my state defense force and continue to save for that laser removal.
Yeah, there are a shit load of Internet bad asses out there….. But there are few that are not afforded the opportunity when we would gladly take it. Keep up the amazing work you guys do and thank you for everything.

    1. all my tats had a waiver, but that was back in 06, the military is down sizing, so things are a bit different. Army will take most, just no hands and face! FYI

  3. You underestimate the number of those who have been more than willing to serve, but have been denied because of totally bull shit bureaucracy reasons. I’ve been rejected from multiple branches because some bureaucratic douche bag decided he knew more about Tourette’s syndrome than all of the experts who have focused their entire careers around the in-depth study of tourettes, and decided it should be add to he permanent disqualifications section for every branch.

PERMANENT. DISQUALIFICATIONS. For a disorder where the VAST majority of those who have been diagnosed stop exhibiting symptoms before they’re even old enough to join the armed forces. I even got a signed note from my neurologist that stated, in no uncertain terms, that there was no reason I should not be barred from joining the Army in an active duty capacity.

You do realize what you said right?

  4. U.S history is full of examples of militarized civilians. Many of whom may have never been part of the actual regular U.S Military.

Revolutionary War would be the Green Mountain Boys and local civilian militias from the battle of Bunker Hill for example.

In the pre civil their were armed abolishinsts like John Brown. Also the Jay Hawks during the Kansas Nebraska conflict as well as Shays rebellion.

Texas for example was formed much in part from non professional. Milita types fighting against Santa Ana. Some of whom may have never been in the U.S Military.

More 20th century U.S citizens forming militas would be Spanish Civil War of the 1930’s. And The Bay of Pigs events.

Point is you do necessarily have to have military experience to be an effective participant. But, it may help I suppose. Speaking as a Veteran forced out due to trauma I can sympathize with those to some degree of those who cannot get in the military due to health issues. Sometimes I think some of the PFT and intelligence requirements can be too stringent. And even unnecessary. However, at same time if I was in a battle I would prefer someone with me who was smart and strong enough to carry me out of harms way if I need the help.

As for the weapons being in the military to the early 1990s. I cannot keep up with all the latest weaponary. I am not certain I would know how to fire the more advanced weapon systems of the last decade.

Point is I think it patriotic to want to kill Jihads. Even if your idea of the military is based on your Video Game console while in your underwear scratching your testicles eating Popeyes Chicken.

  5. In other side you have people like me. I come from a different country (Cuba) and I been trying for almost 2 years to join the Marines but without my Green Card I can’t. Like for my country I feel a deep respect and love for this one and my strongest wish is at this moment wear that uniform, server this great country in retribution for the opportunity of a new life and kick all the muslim ass I can because I’m sooo mad looking all the atrocities of this goats fuckers, but we have here US Citizens begin for welfare and burning the flag with more possibilities than me to enlist. God bless America

  6. There are options besides the military. There is the French Foreign Legion for one. And another is The Lions of Rojava, they have a facebook page and through that page you can make contact with the Kurds and they will tell you how to get over to fight along side them.

  7. I’m not part of really any milita really, or a militia weekender, Theres a 50/50 possibility of being able to enlist, because of past medical problems. I really want to enlist, protect my country do my part, Continue the family line, you know. But if it turns out i get denied, what then? My tio Juan is the only person i’m aware of who served, he was back in Vietnam. does anyone know who or where i could go, if i get denied enlistment?

    1. If my prediction is true which I think inevitable the U.S will take a major hit by the Jihads. The results will probably cause a mini draft though maybe limited. Forcing and enlistng a number of people who may not presently meet some or even many of the present health standards. Which some of them I think are too stringent anyway.

In the meantime I would suggest a College ROTC program. When the poop hits the fan DOD will likely draw from ROTC making Reserve Officers. Similar to WW2 Drafts.

You can also try getting a Medical Service Degree. And work with Red Cross, Samaritans Purse or even Peace Corps. However, IMO Peace tends to be Communist infiltrated.
