BREAKING:  US Military To Open All Combat Jobs To Women.

Defense Secretary Ash Carter will order military to open up all combat jobs, including Infantry, to women.

From FOX News:

Defense Secretary Ash Carter will order the military to open up all combat jobs to women.

The Associated Press reported on Thursday Carter is giving the armed services until Jan. 1 to submit plans to make the historic change.

Carter’s official announcement is expected later Thursday.

It rebuffs arguments from the Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman that the Marine Corps should be allowed to exclude women from certain front-line combat jobs, citing studies showing that mixed-gender units aren’t as capable as all-male units.

A senior defense official says all the services will have to begin putting plans in place by April 1.

The official was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

While this is certainly a big decision, we can’t see we didn’t see it coming sooner or later.  One thing is for sure, this is will definitely impact the military in a big way.

We would love to hear what our fans have to say about this, let us know what you think in the comments or on social media!  Is this a good change, or bad, and why?

  1. I believe that men are hard wired to protect women thus putting women in frontline infantry combat situations will get men killed. I personally believe women should not serve on the frontline due the simple fact that our primary enemy does not have the western worlds respect for the dignity and honor bestowed on women that real men are responsible to protect. However I believe women serve a much greater duty when they work in support of combat troops as they are hardwired for nurturing and support of those under their care. These positions are crucial for men in the field because they are the positions that give the men the hope and the strength they need to be able to accomplish the task put before them. Knowing that someone has your back and will get you what you need when you need it THAT is an incredible feeling to have. Being that someone must in turn also be an incredible feeling.

  2. I cannot believe you guys actually fell for this!

It is a joke! Sheesh! Do you really believe President Obama would allow Women to serve in combat? And to top it off Military Commanders and Officers of the U.S Military, especially in the Army and U.S Marine Corps would even accept such an order? I mean gosh you guys. Such an order would cause a military mutiny! Sheesh. You guys have absolutely no sense of humor at all.

Oh. Wait a minute. Stand by I have to read some more on this.

  3. How the hell is this going to work? As a desert storm vet USMCR Artillery we didn’t see a out house for 6 dam months, a shower was on the buddy system on the gun line. Talked so much shit swung are dicks in the morning read penthouse forum on com at night only when the CO wasn’t on & our XO was fine with it. We had alot of fun. Headquarters sent us some cooks to help on the gun line because we only had 5 marines per 155mm howitzer and they couldn’t even handle our shit. They were gone in 2 days only way I can see it work is if they have womens only platoons

  4. This is a mockery of the military, that the secretary has complete disregard for us or the country. I have nothing against women in the military, but there are some highly strength required jobs in the Military. I don’t want my brothers to die because I wasn’t strong enough to carry them, and that shouldn’t EVER be overlooked because of someone’s sex. I absolutely guarantee that standards will be lowered so more women can enter infantry and Special Forces. Its unexcusable to allow politics to take priority over national defense. FOR SHAME MR. CARTER.

  5. I’ve grown up in a military family and married into a military family (hubby is a disabled Airborne Ranger). I think it’s a horrible idea, especially since they will “drop standards” to get them in. If they can’t carry a full ruck and go through the EXACT PT (same as the men-don’t need to be in). Are they going to leave their brothers/sisters in arms to go change their pads or tampons on the front lines? Are they going to bitch and moan when they can’t take a shower for 30+ days (and then probably get their way)? Is the man to the right or left of her going to be more concerned with protecting her than the men out there? Will it totally change the dynamics during a key takeover, battle, etc? More than likely, the answers to all this is-YES and to what endpoint? How many more soldiers will die because some chic thought she could hack the front line and then realize it’s easier to get pregnant and get discharged than to stay and fight! Or to pucker her lips and have the dude beside her do what needs to be done because she can’t handle pulling the trigger (figuratively and literally). I think it’s absolutely asinine and shouldn’t be allowed. If this “offends” anyone-cry to someone who will care!

  6. This is no joke. As a matter of fact it is no laughing matter at all. I would take an Infantry platoon of men against a company of women on the battlefield all day long and can guarantee who would last longer, move, shoot and communicate more efficiently and would be an all around more superior force to the enemy. Yes, I understand that today’s Battlefield is no longer linear and that women do at times face the enemy as well. However, they do NOT make movements to contact intentionally nor should they. When I retired in 2013 from the Infantry I weighed 180 pounds. Add to that the weight of my gear and radio to include my ruck or assault pack, whichever I was carrying at the time. It would take at least 2 of my men to drag me to safety and my men worked out big time on their down time. I highly doubt any female could do the same. Not to mention that she would more than likely end up pregnant in the first several months of deployment as about 1/4 of the females already do. In closing, it will happen, and this is just another move to make our once powerful military even more weak than what it once was.
