GUNS SAVE LIVES.  Crazy, I know.  There is constantly an argument that armed civilians will cause more issues than solutions.  Well, guess what?  Innocent people being able to protect themselves from scumbags is a solution.  It’s sad that people like this piece of trash in the first place but the real world is a rough place, you never know when something bad will happen or how it will happen.  Best course of action: Be prepared for whatever life throws at you.  If you have a concealed carry license, carry a weapon.  If you don’t, consider getting one.

Great point. One caveat though. A firearm is a tool, not a magic talisman. The physical, tactical, and legal issues surrounding lethal force are considerable and demand due diligence. Become a student. Seek reputable training. Not just in competent gun handling but also in the skills required to never wind up in a situation requiring its use. The best outcome of any gun fight is having seen it well in advance and avoided the situation altogether.
There are many great sources out there. Get busy reading. Start with folks like Tom Givens, Greg Ellifritz, and Craig Douglas (SouthNarc).
