Worst Naval Disaster of WWII Finally Has it’s own Terrifying Movie [VIDEO]
We all respect movies and stories about WWII. The destructive war was fought almost 100 years ago, and these movies help keep the stories alive as less and less people realize the sacrifices that were made and the stories behind them. Some of them go untold and rarely a person as ever heard of them. This one falls under that category, and it’s time that it is brought to light.
The story of the USS Indianapolis goes a little like this: top secret mission, no escorts, enemy (and shark) infested waters, and an aftermath most of us can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
The crew of cruiser ship USS Indianapolis was tasked with transporting enriched uranium and parts for the atomic bomb Little Boy. Highly classified, they received no escort while they navigated the hostile waters near the Philippines.
They were hit by a Japanese torpedo from a submarine and the ship sank. Out of the 1,196 crewmen onboard the vessel, 880 survived the sinking. By the time they were rescued a few days later, only 317 survived. This movie tells their horrific story.

I took care of a man for the last 2 years at the Assisted Living facility I work at that was a survivor of the USS Indianapolis. I heard stories nearly every day. His name was published in a tell-all book. He showed me on a poster where the ship was hit. What happened inside as it was hit and sinking. What happened that week in the water while waiting for rescue. It still gives me goosebumps thinking about what he’s shared with me. To watch how he lived with his past. He was a highly decorated Navy man for 40 years. He recently passed away and it still kills me to not see him every day. He was one that I cherished as if I was his own flesh & blood. We grew to be very close. I have a video of him being interviewed from a few months back. These men, & what they did for us (mostly in secret that we will never know about) astounds me. I had & still have the utmost respect for them. I loved him and pray every day when I pass what was his room that he is at peace and happy.
