After shooting at a police officer in New Jersey, Ahmad Khan Rahami has been caught and is now in custody.
One officer was shot in the hand and another in his bullet-resistant vest. Rahami was also shot, and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Rahami’s fingerprint was found on an un-exploded device, and had been hunted down in relation to the New York bombings in both Chelsea and Manhattan over the weekend. Both bombs were filled with shrapnel, and were made with flip phones, Christmas lights and explosive compounds. Authorities have also found evidence that may link him to the explosion in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
Investigators were assisted in their search by a cell phone left behind with the same un-detonated device.
Police recieved a tip this afternoon, saying that a man sleeping in the hallway of a bar looked like Rahami. When they arrived on the scene, they recognized him and a shootout took place. The officers fired multiple shots before taking Rahami into custody. The shootout was caught on video by one Twitter user:

Rahami’s father, Mohammad, has also had some minor run-ins with the law, particularly over his restaurant – First American Fried Chicken. Ahmad and some of his brothers were employed there. The restaurant was charged with operating outside of licensed hours, and they were fined $200 with $33 in court costs in 2009
There had also been noise complaints from neighbors, as the restaurant often drew rowdy crowds late at night.
President Obama and Mayor De Blasio will be delivering statements at 11:30 and 12:30 EST regarding the suspect, and will be releasing more details at that time.
