Next Year They’re Going To Have Aerial SkyNet

Boeing…what a weird name for an aircraft company, not that we’re complaining, it just seems weird when you say their name. It sounds definitively like a sound an aircraft should not be making (BOING!). Anyways, moving forward, they’re developing an autonomous fighter aircraft that could be flying as soon as 2020…great. We have a robot that can eat people and now the motherf***er has air support.

I know it’s a joke that we all play along with and my unhealthy obsession with the possibility of a war between Man and Machine seems far fetched…but there is a robot that can eat people and now it’s going to have a buddy in the sky. Like…c’mon man. What happens when it decides humanity is humanities own worst enemy and we need to be taken out?

Ok, enough fear mongering. Truth be told, if “Skynet” doesn’t turn on us, this would be pretty cool. Did anyone see that movie “Stealth” with Jessica Biel…and that super tight flight suit? Just me? That plane aside from it’s you know…OFP stage (Own F***in Program), where it did whatever the hell it wanted, was a pretty handy wingman.

Having one of these autonomous fighters to help penetrate and decimate and obliterate and kill the reprobates of our near peer level adversaries would certainly be a step in the right direction for ensuring the safety of the United States for years to come. An advanced AI fighter could prosecute targets and potentially outclass its human counterpart due to the physical limitations that humans have.

I’ve been told a number of times by former fighter pilots that the only real limitations of our most advanced fighters, is that of the pilot and what he can endure. The planes we have now are insane. Having an AI who can perform maneuvers that a human can’t or be a decoy to the real attack or perform a multitude of any other functions, would be a real force multiplier and I sincerely hope that it never turns on us.

Know what we're sayin fam?

  1. Hahahaha! Dude, the robot doesn’t eat human flesh (that would be against the Geneva Conventions) 😂 Anyway, still funny. Just to clarify the robot is designed to eat plants, wood, grass—- that sort of organic matter—- and therefore this organic matter will be turned into fuel. Crazy-making days we live in.

  2. It would be badass if it looks like the one in the pic. But it will probably end up looking like a flying Prius with solar panels for wings.
I guess as long as it’s good at vaporizing the enemy who cares if it looks like AOC included it in the new green deal. 😎

  3. autonomous fighter aircraft have been on the Pentagon’s drawing boards for years and will be a factor in future conflicts for all the reasons you have cited in your article. The pilot “mafia” in both the Air Force and Navy have been obstructing this innovations for years and we could have had these weapon systems in place for several years. I’m retired Air Force and did a stint at the Pentagon working strategic plans and programs so I have some knowledge of this. These weapon systems will obviously change the nature of warfare including the doctrine of air superiority, close air support of our ground forces, air defense for our naval forces, and strategic and tactical air drop and supply missions. The history of weapons development and the changes in warfare doctrine, strategy, and tactics that result from these advances along with the effects on societies is the history of the human race. As Hemingway once said “war is the intercourse of the human race.” Thank you for letting me comment!

  4. As an army vet on the ground, that kind of air support would be a game changer. And scary as hell. While the enemy won’t be able to get to us from the sky, we ,if terminater Skynet became true, would have no where to hide. But, that would be awesome to see in real time.

  5. When do we face the obvious? Drones are replacing the human work force. Remove the pilote , remove a paycheck. I get the argument that if a drone goes down we lose only the drone and not a human life. I have also yet to meet a fighter pilot who wasn’t aware of the inherent dangers of his/her occupation. I doubt seriously you could find a pilot who would rather send a drone into combat in his/her place.
From the self checkouts at your local store to the planes in the sky. eventually there’s gonna. E no paychecks left.

  6. As humans we are the most fragile animal on earth.
Yet time and again, some macho men need to prove their worth to out-do other macho men.
Ultimately, it is a vicious life-cycle in which only real macho men can enjoy and gravitate to – just saying.
AI killer aircraft – who knew! Remember the ‘Death Star’-it is a planet killer, duh.
The mind of man is a most astonishing tool a million years in the making-hmmm.
It is really too bad that we all can’t seem to get along with each other.
Wonder, if someday we could then we wouldn’t need to fashion AI killer aircraft in any case.
