Microdosing and Winning Wars?
As the famous line from Action Figure Therapy’s Jungle Recon goes “You guys ever shoot a machine gun on peyote?” A new study that was approved by the Food and Drug Administration, not Eddie from down the hall…who is usually tripping koala balls, found that microdosing Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and Psilocybin from shrooms, can help the military in a variety of ways.
Let’s be real here, do you honestly think the Mk19 was created by someone not riding an imaginary dragon while pink misting the enemies of Huckleberry Hound in various adventures?
According to Marine Major Emre Albayrak (full article here), an intelligence, and reconnaissance officer, microdosing on both LSD and Psilocybin could pave the way for innovative solutions to possible problems the United States military may encounter, especially as near-peer level adversaries continue to gain ground on America’s technological advantages. And those same adversaries don’t have the same hangups about using these drugs to give their forces an edge.
Having never microdosed ourselves on either of those, we’re skeptical, but, to be completely fair, there is a lot that we don’t know about and we’re not afraid to say that we don’t have any definitive expertise in this field. One thing we will say though is this: The military CAN be fun when you’re allowed to shoot at shit and blow shit up. Imagine getting to do that while microdosing on LSD or Psilocybin…we’re guessing the results would be pretty damn intense
We doubt that’ll happen.
According to the study though, microdosing on LSD can improve memory, learning ability and focus. Sounds really good for any sort of intelligence gathering and strategy planning roles in the military. Maybe hackers and cyber warfare specialists too?
“This is a serious foray and discussion about considering the use of cognitive PEDs to increase productivity, creativity, problem-solving ability, and flow.” – Major Albayrak
