Has Anyone Noticed?
Categories: News, Stories
I know I can’t be the only one who sees. Has anyone noticed that the last few times there has been an active shooter, he was taken down by someone who moved to interrupt the chain of events as the shooter perceived they would unfold? The shooting at the synagogue was stopped when the shooter was confronted, the shooter at UNC was stopped when the hero Riley Howell pinned him to the ground, and the shooter at the Colorado school was stopped when several students rushed him, Kendrick Castillo who led the charge was the lone student killed.
I want to be very clear when I say this so that whoever sees this will understand. If you have it in your demented head, that being an active shooter is how you want to be remembered…know this. People are getting tired of your shit and whether or not they are armed, they will stop you and they will f*** you up and you will be forgotten. I know the names of the heroes. I struggle to remember the names of the shooters. Not because I’m ill-informed, but because they failed and therefore the news isn’t highlighting their names. Their legacy will be that of failure and defeat.
I have the weirdest outlook on the world. While I know it is a cold and calloused place where horrible things happen to people every single day, I also know there are good men and women, who will sacrifice themselves for others. So I both hate and love people because the penchant for human “goodness” or whatever…rare as it may be, is not yet gone from this earth and we’ve seen it in young men and women.
I’ve watched the news cycle and seen that our future, although at times uncertain, is in good hands as long as men and women like Riley Howell and Kendrick Castillo draw breath.
F*** active shooters.

Amen.
The meek shall inherit the earth-and a place in a casket if they cower in a fetal position in the darkest corner they can find. Cold-yes. True- yes. Don’t test the (proven) theory…..
The empowered-weaponized with a deadly tool or just with a 10th grade gangly fist-shall inherit the Kingdom. Perhaps in a casket as well, but the trip up will be much more satisfying knowing they *did* something. Maybe their salvation is accompanied by those they gave salvation to through their actions. Maybe not. But they can be satisfied knowing the sheepdog dog within dug deep past their fear and went head on with the wolf so the sheep could be saved.
It ain’t easy, people, but you had better think about these things well in advance. It will help when there is no time to think but only to react. Every warrior will tell you reaction will get you killed. Acting gives you a leg up. Think now.
Brother Marine, that isn’t a “weird outlook”, or if it is, it is shared by me and others like us. Maybe it’s that extra vision we gained about humanity while in the shit, maybe from other things we don’t share.
.
Regardless, I did notice what you noticed, particularly after the two most recent incidents where good guys with NO experience in such things made near instant decisions to act, without regard for consequences, if they even knew about them. The guys we were with did this, coming from the same kind of heart, but with the knowledge of the risk in many cases, having already been harm’s way a time or ten.
Both types, are our possible salvation when madmen go hunting. I hate it, because it probably means what we’ve seen lately: Someone gives their life to stop the shooter. I just wonder how many others notice what we did, and log it.
Keep your powder dry
Weird blog.
Too far of a reach pretending you have some strange way of viewing the world when it’s clearly how the vast majority views it. I’m sure my comment will be criticized as opposing an opinion that opposes death, but if you’re that slow, go for it. Won’t be worth responding to. No one likes active shooters except active shooters. If you think an blog like this (too silly to be an article) will somehow dissuade someone from becoming the criminal you’re trying to reach, I believe you’re just rattling the cage. They’re gonna stay psycho whether we give them more attention or not, so saying they’ll be forgotten while you write an article addressing every one of them is quite ironic… and counter productive. My two cents.
but yes, F**k these morons that think killing innocent people a solution to anything.
We just love how you cop out on defending your statement within the first three sentences. “Here’s my point of view, but I’m too smart to defend it against the likes of you” Tell us, did you do this in front of all your friends who then clapped?
Very well stated.
Spot on! We will fight we will win. We are not victims. 🇺🇸
Thank u for saying this!!!! The Hero is always remembered and the villain gets temporary fame to just be forgotten. The main factors in these as well as the shooting at sulphur springs is someone did something to stop it. Armed or not they understood that they may not make it out of this alive but will make sure others atleast do. The main seed in the character of a Hero “SELFLESSNESS” . Not to think of yourself but instead others.
Well said brother!! To all the fallen, until Valhalla my brothers!!! A Co 1/87 Find away or make one
I know if I see something going down… I would be the first in line to stop them, armed or not.
I have more of a sense of right or wrong than safety. It’s time to stop these morons. NO MORE SHOOTINGS!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. LETS BE PREPARED
TO FIGHT BACK NEXT TIME. ALL OF US
Who is with me?
Amen the shooters names should never be our focus but the heroes who stop them.
