Where Are We Sitting With Iran

Where are we sitting with Iran? I guess we should count it a win that war didn’t break out over the weekend. In fact, I’m pretty impressed that it didn’t. We have not been known for our restraint when tensions get really high, except for that one time with Cuba and Russian missiles during the ’60s…we were pretty cool then, but even then, it could have ended disastrously. So today, we sit…waiting for word from the United Kingdom on what their response will be towards Iran for seizing two of their oil tankers.
By waiting for word, I mean we’re waiting to hear AFTER the fact that British SAS or SBS dudes, did their ninja clandestine operation ship shit and took the freighters back after giving all Iranians onboard a third eye.
So where are we sitting with the whole Iran situation? Well, let’s break down the recent events.
- May 12, 2019- Four ships anchored in United Arab Emirates waters were sabotaged/attacked. (Iran likely/popular to blame)
- June 13, 2019- Two oil tankers sabotaged/attacked near the Strait of Hormuz. (Iran likely culprit)
- June 20th, 2019 – Iran shoots down US Global Hawk surveillance UAV near Strait of Hormuz (Iran definitely to blame)
- July 4th, 2019 – Britain seizes the Grace 1, claiming it was bound for Syria in violation of sanctions. (Britain definitely did this)
- July 14th, 2019 – Iran “helps” ship they assert was smuggling fuel
- July 18th, 2019 – United States shoots down Iranian drone using Light Marine Air Defense Integrated System, Iran claims jack shit happened
- July 19th, 2019 – Iran seizes both the Mesdar and Stena Impero
- July 22nd, 2019 – Iran claims to have dismantled a CIA spy ring made up of Iranian citizens.
- July 22nd, 2019 – Britain demands ships and crew be released. Iran denies request.
That’s where we’re sitting. The fact that we’re not at war yet is a gigantic surprise given that the United States usually waves our gigantic military dick around. If we get into a war with Iran at this point, it’ll be because Iran really wants it. For all of our shitty foreign policy decisions over the last 70 years, we’ve really done a solid job of not yeeting cruise missiles into Tehran. Where are we sitting…well the ball is in Iran’s court. The United States has shown uncharacteristic restraint and we’re not really sure how long it’ll last.

I don’t want any of this on my Facebook
Ok, so go away then.
John Fannin, The way you write your stories are awesome. The humor is perfect. Thank you. Keep it up
It’s appreciated. Thank you.
Iran is just the fat kid thinking he’s tough. We could level that place. And all the others. Britain are obviously pissed too. Both powers could inflict a world of hate and knowing how Iran doesn’t care about its people they are who will suffer. While the head turbin heads sit in the mansions far away from war.
I know some Iranian nationals/expats who absolutely hate their government. According to them, MOST Iranians love the West and really want to be part of the wider world. It’s their dangerous, corrupt, and evil regime to blame. I hope war and bloodshed is avoided. However, if it’s necessary, I hope we are able to strategically take out the right people, without hurting Iranian citizens.
I do not think people realize the tension that constantly exists in that region every hour of every day. Iran has been playing low key shitty for years. I have been on board Naval Vessels coming through the Straits of Hormuz 4 times. Each time, in spite of the billions in Naval Badassery we had with 7th Fleet it is sketchy. Spy planes, small vessels, suspicious radio traffic, among other things coming through the straits. To reiterate, it is actually INSANELY surprising we have not whipped our Military dick out well before these recent events, much less presently.
That’s what is surprising to me. If people knew the levels of fuckery that exist outside of our borders on a day to day basis, they’d shit themselves.
