Hong Kong, China. If only there were a lesson in the history of the world regarding what happens when citizens are arrested en masse and loaded up on trains…maybe if we knew, from lessons learned in the past, what was their eventual fate we might be able to stop something terrible from happening? Imagine that having that kind of example laid out for you in the modern era…

Luckily, it’s the PRC and so, we know, because we’ve been told, that Communism is super neat, we’re sure all of these people are going to be treated with the utmost dignity in that wonderful worker’s paradise that is the PRC, you know, where everyone is totes cool with everyone else and the police don’t beat the shit out of citizens. A place where food is bountiful and people don’t mysteriously disappear after that talk about a certain day back in June 1989…

We’re totally sure that these people are just going to get a warm meal and some rest and relaxation due to being “overworked” right? It’s not like anything malicious or abhorrent will happen to them, right? It’s not like they live in a country that regularly harvests organs of their prisoners. It’s not like they live in a country like North Korea where reeducation camps exist right?

If you guys couldn’t tell, all of the above writing was sarcasm. We most certainly have an idea of what happens when mass arrests take place and people get shipped out en masse on trains. We most certainly should fear for these individuals. Insert something here about how like all men are created equal…oh wait we found the quote we’re looking for;

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

All men. Created equal. Endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. Now, these men and women are not Americans, and some of you may ask why the fuck you should give a damn. Injustice and oppression anywhere is a threat to justice and liberty everywhere, that’s why. We’re sitting idly by and waiting to watch a genocide, but it’s cool cause they’re not Americans and it doesn’t affect us here…(again sarcasm)
