Get Your 4th of July Drink On

The 4th of July is pretty much an excuse to party in the most American way possible. That will obviously include some drinks. We’ve got a group of 4th of July themed drinks that should make for a glorious celebration of throwing the yoke of oppression off of our shoulders. Take that Great Britain! We’re going drinking!

We know it goes without saying, but since there’s always one that ruins things for us, please be responsible while drinking.

Don’t be the one that ruins a good time for everyone else. Just don’t.

Bourbon

4th of July
Yes, it’s simple. We don’t care, its the most American drink out there. Only distilled in America, enjoying bourbon is like giving the middle finger to the redcoats all over again, except this time, you get tipsy.

Old Fashioned

4th of July
What is more Americana for our nations birthday than an Old Fashioned? Nothing except maybe the above drink. However the simple combination of bourbon, bitters, sugar and citrus rind, its easy and classy for any 4th of July party goer! Add a cherry if you like!

Red, White and Boozy Shake (courtesy of Delish.com)

4th of July
If old-style drug store milkshakes and alcohol are your things, we’ve got a treat for you. The Red, White, and Boozy (click for recipe) is everything nostalgic about America, with a wonderful alcohol infused twist.

Blueberry Coconut Sparkler
4th of July
If you’re looking for something a little bit lighter, the Blueberry Coconut Sparkler (click here for recipe) is the way to go. Light, fruity and refreshing with a tropical twist for your 4th of July celebration.

Blueberry Mojito

4th of July

Another light option for you to try out on our nations birthday is the Blueberry Mojito. Perfect for those of you that want to put a light, rum infused tropical spin on your drink, you’re certain to knock back a few too many. Best part yet, it’s a Mojito, so it’s not like its hard to make (click here for recipe).

Mint Julip

4th of July

I do declare, that I, Mr. Reginald Abbernathy Prestwick the IV of Southern Georgia fancy a Mint Julip to give some reprieve to this unbearable and incalescent summer heat. Just kidding, but for another All-American cocktail from the south, a Mint Julip will quench your thirst on this hot holiday. Just add bourbon, sugar, water, and mint over shaved ice and you’ve got a nice summer cocktail with the definitive American spirit.
