When comic book conventions first began, they were far from cool, and even farther from having hot cosplay girls in attendance. In fact, they were the opposite of cool. Fast forward to today and comic books own Hollywood and TV, and that makes comic book conventions the hot place to be for all things entertainment. When the world takes note of such a big change in entertainment, things change. One of the most immediate changes was that comic book conventions became big business. From there, fans in attendance started dressing up as their favorite heroes and villains with more vigor than ever before and then the whole paradigm changed when the idea of 'cosplay' became a part of our shared consciousness.
