How do you do when you're all alone? You can't win battles and wars by yourself. No matter how good you are, eventually the numbers will overwhelm you. It is the same concept in business. At Bunker Labs, Daniel Alarik, CEO of Grunt Style, stresses the importance of teamwork in business.
The United States military is successful because of the teamwork that is employed. Certainly, we have great technology and amazing equipment, but it would all be for not if we weren't able to work together. Dan gives an example of an audience member at Bunker Labs, Michelle. In the hypothetical situation, Michelle can do everything well. To quote Heraclitus "Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back." Michelle is the Warrior, she can shoot, she's strong, you name it she does it better than everyone else.
War has been declared and we take Michelle and drop her in the combat zone all by herself because she's so amazing. What is going to happen next? She's going to die because no matter how good Michelle is, she's eventually going to get tired and overrun. You can be the best, we take pride in being the best we can be at anything and everything, but eventually, you'll need a team to support you. We hit on this a little bit in another article, the point remains just as important and so we'll reiterate it.
Look at any successful leader or business owner and you'll find that selecting people to fill key roles is one of their biggest strong points. No matter how smart and brilliant you are, you'll still need to develop a great team to support your endeavors.
